Document Details : Title: Second-degree atrioventricular block as the first sign of sarcoidosis in a previously asymptomatic patient Author(s): VAN HERENDAEL, B. , VAN HERENDAEL, H. , DE RAEDT, H. Journal: Acta Cardiologica Volume: 62 Issue: 3 Date: June 2007 Pages: 295-297 DOI: 10.2143/AC.62.3.2020820 Abstract : Clinical signs of cardiac involvement can be the first presentation of systemic sarcoidosis. In young or middle-aged patients presenting with conduction abnormalities cardiac sarcoidosis should always be included in the differential diagnosis. If the diagnosis is made before severe systolic dysfunction has occurred, treatment with steroids can render excellent results. |
