Abstract :
Spurred on by the interdisciplinary ambitions of Theo van Doesburg, Bart van der Leck and Georges Vantongerloo, Piet Mondriaan, a painter through and through, also developed a distinctive view of the home, street and city of the future. He never collaborated with architects; he limited his efforts to the design of his studio. But his visions of a future built environment, which he evoked in his writings, were arguably the most radical ones produced by De Stijl.
