It is clear however, that there is a great variety among the different regions and peoples that should be kept in mind, but is often overlooked. Tell Beydar in the north of Syria should not be compared lightly to sites in the south of Mesopotamia ; there are substantial differences between the different regions regarding culture, society and technology. |
