However as the Mongols ruled over much of the Eurasian continent, they had to deal with a variety of cultures. Thus they cultural identity is complicated and by no means definable by entirely Muslim standards. Likewise, their artistic language reflected on Ilkhanid royal manuscripts is multilingual with peculiarity, which is rather hard to articulate by Islamic art language proper. |
