Abstract :
A 48-year-old male patient with known hypercholesterolaemia and severe nicotine addiction was referred to our centre for diagnostic coronary angiography because of crescendo dyspnoea during slight physical exercises and with an electrocardiographically positive bicycle test.In the mid portion of the left anterior descending coronary artery the angiogram revealed a giant coronary aneurysm (IVUS: length 16 mm,diameter 6 mm) inserted between two severe stenoses. Because of these anatomic features a graft stent implantation was planned. Under guidance of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in order to measure precisely the length of the aneurysm, a 19 mm PolyTetraFluoroEthylene (PTFE)-graft stent (19 mm stent, 19 mm coating) was inserted. A control angiogram after the procedure showed a completely sealed aneurysm without any residual coronary stenosis.
