Journal: Studia Iranica Volume: 26 Issue: 1 Date: 1997 Pages: 113-115 DOI: 10.2143/SI.26.1.2003950 Abstract : The present note deals with two Sogdian words attested in the Mug documents: rnkcrm and γšnh. The author rejects the meaning 'coloured hide', previously adopted by the editors of the texts for rnkcrm and instead, suggests the meaning 'ibex hide' for it. For the second word that hitherto remained obscure, he tentatively suggests the meaning 'a kind of precious pearl'. Deux mots sogdiens qui se trouvent dans les documents du Mont Mug ont été traités dans cette note: rnkcrm et γšnh. La signification 'peau teinte' attribuée au premier mot par les rédacteurs des textes est rejetée et au lieu de cela, est proposée la signification 'peau d'ibex'. Quant au deuxième vocable qui est demeuré obscur jusqu'à présent, l'auteur lui attribue, à titre d'hypothèse, la signification 'sorte de perle précieuse'. |
