This rule generally worked in the ancient Armenian translations from Greek. But in some cases in the translations of the Hellenizing School and more rare — of the classical period it was disregarded. We have observed four types of that phenomen: a. translation of proper names having lexical meaning, b. “translation” of geographical names with Armenian equivalents, c. substitution of Greek theonyms and names of other mythological creatures with Armenian equivalents, d. armenization and christianization of the examples in the scientific works. |
