Abstract :
Attentive readers (at least those who have looked first at the inside back cover!) might have guessed that some changes to the editorship will be working their way through during the next few months. After 10 years Paul Embrechts has decided to retire as editor with the current volume 35.2 being the last that he will be responsible for.For me as the continuing editor it is with great sadness that we will no longer be working together on ASTIN Bulletin.During my own years as co-editor and then editor Ihave been able to see first hand the most enormous contribution that Paul has made to maintain and enhance the reputation of the journal. The fact that ASTIN Bulletin is widely regarded as the leading international journal covering the full breadth of practical and theoretical work in actuarial science is largely due to Paul’s contribution.
The new editor replacing Paul will be Professor Shaun Wang of Georgia State University in Atlanta.Shaun is ofcourse no stranger to readers of ASTIN Bulletin and readers will also know that Shaun is one of the few people who can reasonably fill Paul’s shoes. Personally Ifeel very lucky that Shaun has agreed to join us and I am sure that his presence will help ASTIN Bulletin to move forward and maintain its premier status.
