Abstract :
This article is concerned with overcoming the gulf between women’s experiences and theological reflection. Pastoral work is depicted as the enabling of “wholesome story-telling”, story-telling is revealed as the language of the religious for pastoral-theological reflection. Basing herself on Nelle Morton, the author emphasises that listening precedes speaking, and thereby completes the categories of “narrative” and “memory”. Listening as an existential occurrence of human relations, not as passively listening to the word, is the prerequisite for women to become subjects.
