Ce terme constitue l'axe autour duquel, dans le dernier des Huit Chapitres, tourne la réflexion de Maïmonide sur la liberté humaine. Pour ce faire, il a fallu qu'on y consacrât d'abord une étude philologique: recension des occurrences, des co-occurrences, comparaison avec d'autres auteurs arabophones, comparaison des différentes traductions, avec relevé des nuances et des divergences. Sur la base philologique s'appuie l'explication philosophique du sens de la fitra et de son importance, tant dans la cosmologie de Maïmonide que dans sa doctrine métaphysique de la liberté; d'où l'on a conclu que la fitra désigne, auprès du mouvement des sphères et de la nature, un troisième principe d'efficience, cette fois, dans le domaine exclusif de la contingence. This study tries to elucidate a rare term in Maimonides' philosophy, the arab term of fitra. This term is what the reflexion of Maimonides, in the last of the Eight Chapters, turns about. For that purpose, a philological study had to be devoted to its use by Maimonides, in his philosophical works: recension of the occurrences and cooccurrences, comparison with other arab authors, comparison of the different translations, by noting the nuances and the divergences. On this philological basis, the philosophical sense and the importance of the fitra, as well in Maimonides' cosmology, as in his metaphysic doctrine of human freedom, is explained; which could be accurately summed up by the fact that the fitra, with the motion of the spheres and nature, is a third principe of efficiency, by acting only in the field of the contingency. |
