Document Details : Title: A late complication of percutaneous radial artery cannulation Author(s): NAZERI A, SOHAWON S, PAPADOPOULOU B, GEORGALA A, DERNIER Y, NOORDALLY SO Journal: Acta Clinica Belgica Volume: 66 Issue: 3 Date: 2011 Pages: 223-225 DOI: 10.2143/ACB.66.3.1002949 Abstract : Radial artery pseudoaneurysms occurring as a late complication of percutaneous radial artery cannulation are rare, while those which are infected are exceptional. Known risk factors are age-related with patients being in their seventies and onwards, the duration of the radial artery catheter and staphylococcal catheterrelated infections. We report the case of an 82-year-old patient who developed a mycotic radial artery pseudoaneurysm as a late complication of arterial catheterization. |
