Document Details : Title: Pulsating tumour in the clavicular region of a chronic haemodialysis patient with ipsilateral vascular access catheter Author(s): REYNS LM, DHONDT A, PETROVIC M, VOET D, VANHOLDER R Journal: Acta Clinica Belgica Volume: 63 Issue: 1 Date: 2008 Pages: 39-41 DOI: 10.2143/ACB.63.1.1002543 Abstract : We describe the case of a 70-year-old woman who presented with a pulsating mass in the left supraclavicular region during a haemodialysis session. The frequency of the pulsations, parallel to that of the dialysis-related blood fl ow cycle, without blood loss at the exit site, indicated that this observation could potentially be attributed to a rupture of the silastic material in the subcutaneous track of the catheter. Our hypothesis was confirmed after removal of the catheter. |
