Abstract :

We describe the case of a 70-year-old woman who presented with a pulsating mass in the left supraclavicular region during a haemodialysis session. The frequency of the pulsations, parallel to that of the dialysis-related blood fl ow cycle, without blood loss at the exit site, indicated that this observation could potentially be attributed to a rupture of the silastic material in the subcutaneous track of the catheter. Our hypothesis was confirmed after removal of the catheter.
