The disease is transmitted to men predominantly from birds. Most commonly noted symptoms are fever, headache and cough, but a number of other symptoms or complications may arise such as renal impairment, hepatitis or neurological symptoms. In this article 3 cases of psittacosis are presented, with a review of the literature with emphasis on laboratory diagnosis. |
