Roughly speaking, about twenty five percent of the criticism as been positive, even enthusiastic, while twenty to twenty five percent has been equally negative. The greater proportion of the reviewers are appreciative but express some relatively basic reservations or questions. Some few reviewers, finally, report what is going on in the book without expressing any opinion about it. It seems like a good time to open up a broad dialogue on the methods and issues involved in christology by responding to these reviews with special attention to the negative critiques. |
