Whole editions of the journals Modern Theology and New Blackfriars have been given over to reviewing his work, and Milbank is himself a frequent contributor to their pages. Critical comment is generally appreciative of Milbank’s work, in which 'philosophy and sociology have become unexpectedly vulnerable to theological arguments' and commend his 'brilliant simplicity.' However, there is some concern that there is both a lack of historical and evolutionary appreciation, and depth to the ecclesiology. |
