Document Details : Title: «Heralds and Apostles» Subtitle: The Mission of the American College of Louvain - Past, Present and Future Author(s): CODD, Kevin Journal: Louvain Studies Volume: 27 Issue: 2 Date: summer 2002 Pages: 171-176 DOI: 10.2143/LS.27.2.934 Abstract : Ever since the beginning of the Christian story, people have found their lives hijacked by the Lord. They experienced a sudden compulsion to proclaim the truth of Jesus to whomever might listen. Peter, James and the other ten are some of the first. Then Timothy, Barnabas and the great Paul pass the fiery baton of the Gospel on in any way they can. Next, Paul is taken away by the mission and so writes impassioned letters to the faithful. And they were only the beginning; so many others followed, having had the Word handed on to them in such a way that it grabbed them by the guts, making of them heralds and apostles in their own right and in their own time. The impassioned handing on of this faith and truth has continued until this very day. |
