Once it was pointed out to him that 'the Drewermann affair' was really more of a problem within the Catholic Church he curtly retorded: 'Whatever! Its all the same to me.' This anecdote was related a few years ago by the Evangelical theologian Dorothee Sölle in an issue of 'Evangelische Kommentare'. When we hear concerned questions about society's increasing indifference towards religion from a critical political theologian such as Sölle, we ought to take note. |
