Document Details : Title: A Moral Understanding of Some Arguments of Saint Thomas Author(s): JANSSENS, L. Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 63 Issue: 4 Date: December 1987 Pages: 354-360 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.63.4.556346 Abstract : According to Paul Ricoeur it is characteristic of a symbol to set us thinking. The same applies to the writings of prominent thinkers: they give us food for further reflection. I think that is especially true of Saint Thomas. His conceptions and arguments often open perspectives which he did not work out himself but which can be for us the starting point of interesting developments. I would try to illustrate this statement by two examples. |
