Document Details : Title: Why is Boasting Excluded? Subtitle: A Note on Rom 3,27 and 4,2 Author(s): LAMBRECHT, J. Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 61 Issue: 4 Date: December 1985 Pages: 365-368 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.61.4.556287 Abstract : 'What then becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Through that of works? No, but through the law of faith' (Rom 3,27). The reader of Paul's letter to the Romans stading before this verse certainly remembers the long passage 2,1-3,20 in which it is clearly and broadly depicted how the Jews do not observe the law. Every mouth is stopped, the whole world is accountable to God. |
