Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 69 Issue: 1 Date: April 1993 Pages: 5-26 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.69.1.542178 Abstract : The present study of Jn 9, the story of the man born blind, is developed in two parts. The first part deals with the background and presuppositions for a narrative reading of Jn 9, trating its relationships to the surrounding context, its independence as a narrative unit in its own right, its literary and themathic structure, and narrative features like plot, characterization, use of space and time, and point of view. The second part takes up, scene by scene, a detailed narrative reading of the episode of the man born blind. |
