Document Details : Title: The Major Summarities in Acts: Acts 2,42-47; 4,32-35; 5,12-16 Subtitle: Linguistic and Literary Relationship Author(s): CO, M.A. Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 68 Issue: 1 Date: April 1992 Pages: 49-85 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.68.1.542163 Abstract : Overlapping themes and apparent contradictions in the descriptions of the first Christian community in Acts 2,42-47; 4,32-35; 5,12-16 have led scholars to propose different explanations for the relationship of these three passages. Dibelius style criticism and his identification of the summary genre paved a way out of the impasse of source-critical solutions. The purpose of this article1 is to contribute to a better understanding of the relationship of these three so-called major summaries in Acts 2-5. |
