Document Details : Title: The Middle Bronze Age Funerary Evidence from Tell Ahmar (Syria) Author(s): ROOBAERT, Arlette Journal: Ancient Near Eastern Studies Volume: 35 Date: 1998 Pages: 97-105 DOI: 10.2143/ANES.35.0.525772 Abstract : In 1994, during the seventh excavation season at Tell Ahmar, a jar burial was discovered in Area S, the stratigraphic trenc on the eastern slope of the tell. Together with human bones, the jar contained three reconstructable pots, a bronze toggle pin and a cylinder seal. Considering the importance of the material found in the tomb, as well as the dearth of published Middle Bronze Age remains from the upper Euphrates valley, it was decided to publish the burial before research is completed in the Area S step trench. |
