Previous studies quite naturally have been besed on the received texts of the Pentateuch poems. A basic methodological question is, nevertheless, the issue of how reliably the current distribution of archaisms in our texts reflects the most ancient version of our poems. New textual evidence is now available and should be integrated in the research. This article analyses the Hebrew texts of five extensive Pentateuch poems. |
