This enables the reader to discern easily where one of the two texts is expanded or abridged and where it overlooks or deals with certain information. Furthermore, minor variations in these texts become distinguishable. Now for the first time, the English reader is provided with a book which presents the two texts arranged in parallel columns, enabling him to observe not only the 'major' differences between large textual sections but also differences in phrases and even individual words. |
