Document Details : Title: An Old Nubian Document from Kulubnarti Author(s): BROWNE, G.M. Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 113 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2000 Pages: 177-184 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.113.1.519473 Abstract : The present Old Nubian text, which I publish here for the first time, was discovered in 1969 during the University of Kentucky excavations at Kulubnarti in Sudanese Nubia. It came to light in House A1, Site 21S-2, as did the fragmentary martyrdom of Saint George, but whereas the latter was found in the second-storey crypt, the piece here edited — which bears the registration number 371 — was uncovered in room 1-5: see W.Y. ADAMS, Kulubnarti I: The Architectural Remains, Lexington, Kentucky, 1994, pp. 57 and 310. |
