Enough time has gone by to evaluate the shift in sacramental and pastoral care as a result of teh changes amde in the rituals of the Church to stand back and aexamine the way in which they have been integrated into the life and prayer of the Cristian community. This article will examine the consequences of the shift in the sacramental rites of the church from extreme unction of teh sick. It is my contention that this shift has in real ways left peple to die alone, without the companionship of their minister and community. As theological and pastoral leaders it is our responsibility to remedy the situation. |
