It is true that John Paul II admonishes theologians and missionaries who are moving towards that conviction. The question is: Can this Trinitarian approach be made more explicit in such a way that this presence of the Holy Spirit and of the Word within the religions of the world allows us, within Christian theology, to rehabilitate the founders or seers of these religions, teh sacred books they use and the revelations? If we can affirm this in good Christian conscience, the question arises as to wether we should continue to consider dialogue as subservient to mission. |
