This remarkable convention was held in Chicago in 1893. Delegates from many Christian churches as well as some representatives of non-Christian religions participated in the interreligious dialogue. Among them were two Hindus: a member of teh reform movement Brâhma Samâj and a monk who was regarded as the representative of traditional Hinduism. His name was Vivekânanda. |
