Document Details : Title: Christian Perceptions of Buddhism Subtitle: Fourth Conference of the European Buddhist-Christian Studies Author(s): D'ARCY MAY, John Journal: Studies in Interreligious Dialogue Volume: 12 Issue: 1 Date: 2002 Pages: 98-100 DOI: 10.2143/SID.12.1.519017 Abstract : Hosted by the Department of Theology at the University of Lund, this conference reversed the perspective of the previous one, which studied Buddhist perceptions of Jesus. In the event, a strong Buddhist presence from Europe, Thailand and Japan ensured that distinctive, even conflicting Buddhist views of Christianity were represented at the Lund conference. But there were also some impressive attempts by Christians to come truly to terms with the history of relationship and its implications for theology. |
