Chronologically, the Byzantine period spanned three centuries from the reign of Constantine in the fourth to that of Heraclius in the seventh. The Arab Christian presence in Byzantine Palestine is traced diachronically in the three Palestines in the course of these three centuries, based almost entirely on contemporary Greek and Syriac sources. |
