As our knowledge of Mandaean has substantially increased since, the translation and also the transliteration need improvement, because they contain many mistakes and inaccuracies, including the absence of entire lines. The author tries to solve as many problems as possible, but nevertheless the meaning and origin of some words remain obscure. Also the context of the narrative (incantations against the Evil Eye and other exorcisms) remains far from clear. |
