Document Details : Title: Practice in Korean Buddhism Subtitle: The Principal Scriptural Traditions Author(s): SO, Chong-Bum Journal: Studies in Interreligious Dialogue Volume: 14 Issue: 1 Date: 2004 Pages: 8-20 DOI: 10.2143/SID.14.1.504375 Abstract : I begin this paper with an examination of the concept of practice. From there I will try to present a brief overview of the traditional method of practice in Korean Buddhism, and finally add a word about its value and aim. To guide me in the exposition I will examine a number of Scriptures widely adopted in Korean Buddhism in general. Because I wish to emphasize practice itself rather than systematically develop a particular thesis, I will not confine my remarks to the texts normally cited in academic research. |
