The digital revolution has moved the academic study of Dutch Language and Literature into a period of transition in which one ought to contemplate homogenization in the supply of data, improving the quality of the scientific output and of the curricula and making everyday research routines much more efficient. De Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren (dbnl) [The Digital Library of Dutch Literature] is a digitization project that aims at building an infrastructure that should give an impetus to the aforementioned ambitions. Simplicity and the use of standards are essential to the dbnlapproach. This results in a transparant and inviting website, that will present a huge and representative corpus of texts, covering most domains in the study of Dutch Language and Literature. |
