These two types of contrast are contrast affecting individual words or strings of words on the one hand, and contrast affecting entire sentences or clauses on the other. It is proposed that the Coptic ρω contrasts a thought, as expressed by a sentence or clause, with its negation. Examples illustrate this theory. |
