Document Details : Title: Le nuove accessioni manoscritte armene del Pontificio Collegio Armeno di Roma: un primo report Author(s): SIRINIAN, Anna Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 116 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2003 Pages: 71-90 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.116.1.344 Abstract : This paper is a preliminary report about a recent project to reorganize the Library of the Pontificio Collegio Armeno in Rome, which began in November 2000. It involves specialists from the Vatican Library, the University of Bologna and the Catholic University in Milano. Along with the preparation of an inventory of Armenian “incunabula” and other old printed books in different languages, special attention has been devoted to manuscripts which have never yet been catalogued, in Armenian, Latin, Greek, and various oriental languages. The author is preparing a catalogue of 62 Armenian manuscripts which were not included in the previous catalogue by Nerses Akinian (1935-1936; reprint 1961), even though some of them were already in the Collegio or in the Armenian church of S. Biagio della Pagnotta when the erudite Mechitarist father published it. Some details are also given about two unedited XVth century illuminated manuscripts, whose provenance can be traced back to monastic collections in Vaspurakan, prior to the Armenian genocide. |
