This article provides a French translation, with philological commentary, of these two versions, in parallel, with a view to making this text accessible to Western readers; this could also help to recover the Arabic model of the Ethiopian recension, which is twice as long as the Georgian one. The materials presented here and in parallel publications indicated in the notes will, we hope, lead to a revival of Macarian studies. |
