Document Details : Title: On the Date of the Quaestiones de tribus principiis naturae by Antonius Andreae O.F.M. Author(s): SMITH, Garrett R. Journal: Recherches de Théologie et Philosophie Médiévales Volume: 92 Issue: 2 Date: 2025 Pages: 465-478 DOI: 10.2143/RTPM.92.2.3295166 Abstract : Antonius Andreae is typically thought to have studied with Duns Scotus at Paris, on the basis of a statement he adds at the end of several works. The present article argues this statement does not prove that Antonius was present at Scotus’ lectures, but rather is a reference to Scotus’ written works. Antonius’ earliest work is shown to date later than was believed previously, with his literary activity redated to the 1320s. |
