Document Details : Title: Armenian Hayrens and Occitan Canzones Author(s): YEGHIAZARYAN, Vano , MARUTYAN, Tehmina , KHACHATURYAN, Veronik Journal: Revue des Études Arméniennes Volume: 43 Date: 2025 Pages: 395-410 DOI: 10.2143/REA.43.0.3295031 Abstract : The subject of the article is a comparison of the Armenian Medieval love songs – hayrens, mistakenly attributed to Nahapet K‘uč‘ak – and the Occitan troubadours’ canzones based on the parallel study of several examples. We aim at revealing the common features of the Medieval Armenian and Occitan love poetry. The topicality of the article is the question of the authors’ identity of the Medieval Armenian love poems and their comparison with the Occitan canzones. The comparative method and the method of hermeneutics have been applied to study the material. |
