Abstract :
This paper presents the research and valorisation project currently underway at the National Institute of Art History (INHA) in Paris, centred on the archive of Nicole and Jean-Michel Thierry. Initiated in 2022, one year after the collection was received by the INHA library, this collaborative and multidisciplinary initiative brings together researchers, archivists, and digital engineers who are jointly engaged in the inventory, digitisation, and scholarly study of this dense and valuable archive. The paper outlines the three main components of the project: the enriched digital edition of the couple’s travel diary, covering the archaeological missions carried out between 1952 and 1998; the digitisation of the photographic corpus documenting the architectural heritage of medieval Armenia and Georgia; and the broader research endeavour that, through the case study of the Thierry archive, seeks to explore the development of Armenian and Georgian studies within the field of art history during the second half of the twentieth century.
