Document Details : Title: Le jeune Maldiney à l'ombre d'Aron (1948-1949) Subtitle: Interprétation ou appropriation d'une philosophie critique de l'histoire? Author(s): JDEY, Adnen Journal: Etudes phénoménologiques - Phenomenological Studies Volume: 10 Date: 2026 Pages: 241-272 DOI: 10.2143/EPH.10.0.3295014 Abstract : This article examines how two of Henri Maldiney’s problematics are related to each other. In his early philosophy, Maldiney was interested in the complex relationship between philosophy and history. The claim of this paper is that Raymond Aron is not merely a reference among others for the young Maldiney but one of his interlocutors with whom he tries to open up a peculiar dialogue. By using a set of his unpublished lectures from 1948 to 1949, we show the role that Aron’s Introduction to the Philosophy of History played in his work and examine why he appeals to the essential concepts of Aron’s epistemological approach and how he integrates them into the construction of his conception of history. |
