Nous exploitons autant que possible des indices fournis par les biobibliographes Arabes afin de reconstituer la structure et l’organisation de ce traité. Ajouté à cela, des références à cette oeuvre, évoquées par Philopon lui-même dans ses commentaires In Phys. et In Anal. Post., révèlent son caractère hétérogène et varié. Notre analyse privilégie donc l’aspect dialectique et aporétique de l’oeuvre philoponienne. Nous révélons ainsi la qualité de cet esprit indépendant qui évolue graduellement vers une vision du monde où la thèse créationniste prédomine. The aim of this article is to examine John Philoponus’s lost treatise 'Summikta Theôrêmata'. As far as possible we make use of the indications provided by the Arab biobibliographers in order to reconstitute the structure and organisation of the treatise. In addition, references to this work by Philoponus himself in his commentaries In Phys. and In Anal. Post. reveal its heterogeneous and varied character. Our analysis thus emphasizes the dialectical and aporetic aspect of Philoponus’s work. We thus reveal the quality of this independent mind that is gradually evolving towards a vision of the world in which the creationist thesis dominates. |
