Abstract :
Understanding experience is vital in spirituality. The idea that spirituality, in the context of exercise or ascesis (which in history is a battle or a struggle), develops through experience in terms of the power to mediate (posse mediare), enriches our understanding of the trajectory by which spirituality reaches its perfection, which is theologal or metaphysical in its orientation. Even if spirituality develops in history, its directionality, given that it is metaphysical or theologal, is eschatological. Therefore, posse mediare must be understood as eschatological: it goes beyond the event or existence of history and it reaches the fullness of life that is liturgy or celebration in eschatology. In this fullness of life the experience (or mediation) of the real to be reality, of reality to be real, is lived as posse mediare, which is both power and empowerment, since it is not only a matter of living the spiritual life by oneself, but of sharing it in communion and participation with all on the journey (mystagogy) to the origin (religatio).
