Une matrice néotestamentaire et complexe détermine un «politique» qui n’est ni assimilable au politique, au sens mondain, ni réductible à ce qui est purement spirituel. Cette ambivalence trouve sa source dans deux «moments» christologiques: celui par lequel Jésus dans son ministère n’exerce pas encore un pouvoir et celui, glorieux, où tout pouvoir lui a été conféré. Depuis que leur maître s’est dérobé à leur regard, ne leur laissant aucun exemple de gouvernement, les disciples sont invités à exercer historiquement un pouvoir. Aussi l’Église est-elle contrainte de gouverner en s’inspirant de modèles externes, celui de l’Empire et celui d’Israël-nation. Pourtant la mémoire de Jésus servira sans cesse de contrepoint à ces modèles politiques, intégrant dans le politique même de l’Église une autocritique évangélique qui corrige les abus. The aim of this study is to elucidate the theological reasoning behind the political dimension of Christianity. A complex neo-testamentary matrix determines a ‘politics’ that is neither assimilable to politics in the worldly sense nor reducible to the purely spiritual. This ambivalence finds its source in the two Christological ‘moments’: the one in which Jesus, in his ministry, did not yet exercise power, and the glorious one in which all power was conferred on him. After their master withdrew from their sight, leaving them no example of government, the disciples are invited to exercise power historically. The Church is therefore forced to govern on the basis of external models, that of the Empire and that of Israel as a nation. However, the memory of Jesus served as a constant counterpoint to these political models, integrating an evangelical self-criticism into the very politics of the Church and correcting abuses. Diese Studie will die theologische Begründung der politischen Dimension des Christentums beleuchten. Eine neutestamentliche und komplexe Matrix bestimmt ein 'Politisches', das weder mit dem Politischen im weltlichen Sinne gleichzusetzen ist, noch auf das rein Spirituelle reduziert werden kann. Diese Ambivalenz hat ihren Ursprung in den beiden christologischen 'Momenten': dem, in dem Jesus in seinem Dienst noch keine Macht ausübt, und dem glorreichen, in dem ihm alle Macht übertragen wurde. Nachdem sich ihr Meister ihren Blicken entzogen und ihnen kein Beispiel für eine Regierung hinterlassen hat, werden die Jünger aufgefordert, historisch Macht auszuüben. Daher ist die Kirche gezwungen, sich beim Regieren an externen Modellen zu orientieren, etwa dem des Imperiums und dem der Nation Israel. Die Erinnerung an Jesus wird jedoch immer wieder als Gegenpol zu diesen politischen Modellen dienen, indem sie in die Politik der Kirche eine Selbstkritik aus dem Evangelium integriert und Missstände korrigiert. |
