Document Details : Title: Geliebte Menschen Subtitle: Die Genese des Johannesevangeliums im Ringen um Raum für Randfiguren Author(s): SCHMIDT, Karl Matthias Journal: Biblica Volume: 106 Issue: 2 Date: 2025 Pages: 255-276 DOI: 10.2143/BIB.106.2.3294733 Abstract : Hypotheses regarding the sources of the Gospel of John are discussed by scholars who have different assumptions regarding editorial revisions of preliminary stages of the canonical text. Following Johannes Beutler SJ, this article assumes that the original writing of the Gospel already presupposed the synoptic narrative. Because the fourth evangelist consciously designed an alternative narrative framework, his presentation was revised several times in response to competing concepts, not least with regard to the Johannine character program. |
