Document Details : Title: Healing as an Act of Creation in the Gospel of John Author(s): SHOUKRY, Zacharias Journal: Revue Biblique Volume: 132 Issue: 1 Date: 2025 Pages: 46-63 DOI: 10.2143/RBI.132.1.3294183 Abstract : The creation theology in the Gospel of John cannot be reduced to the first creation at the beginning of time (creatio prima) since there are also aspects of creatio continua. In this article, I want to focus on Jesus’s healings as acts of creation. Do Jesus’s words, healing the official’s son, have the same power as the Creator’s words at the beginning of creation? Do the healing of the sick man at Beth-zatha, the giving of sight to the blind man, and the raising of Lazarus point to the life-giving abilities of Jesus as Creator who also restores his own life? La théologie de la création dans l’Évangile de Jean ne peut être réduite à la première création au début (creatio prima) puisqu’il y a aussi des aspects de creatio continua. Dans cet article, je veux me concentrer sur les guérisons de Jésus en tant qu’actes de création. Les paroles de Jésus quand il guérit le fils du fonctionnaire, ont-elles le même pouvoir que les paroles du Créateur au commencement? La guérison du malade à Béthesda, le fait de rendre la vue à l’aveugle et la résurrection de Lazare, indiquent-ils les capacités vivifiantes de Jésus en tant que Créateur qui restaure aussi sa propre vie? |
