It is shown that these requests operate on a deep propitiatory level, i.e. to obtain divine approval for the most varied deliberations of the human will: travel, economic affairs, personal problems. Le présent article tente d’établir la signification de la fameuse conditio jacobaea en relation avec des appels analogues trouvés dans la correspondance privée et la pratique oraculaire de l’Égypte ptolémaïque et romaine. Il est démontré que ces pétitions opèrent à un profond niveau propitiatoire, notamment pour obtenir l’approbation divine aux délibérations les plus variées de la volonté humaine: voyages, affaires économiques, problèmes personnels. |
