Abstract :
The anonymous commentaries which in the majority of manuscripts are ascribed to David the Invincible and bear the titles «Aristotle’s Categories Called in Greek Katiłorias» and «On Interpretation, Peri Armenias» [sic!] are commentaries on Aristotle’s Categories and On Interpretation. Until now, there has been no final agreement among scholars whether these texts are original Armenian works or translations from Greek. In this paper, we have given a number of examples which, together with the extremely hellenizing language of these commentaries, demonstrate quite clearly that they are not original Armenian works but very literal translations and unique witnesses to Greek commentaries whose originals were lost probably sometime after the 6th century AD.
