Abstract :
The rapid digitalization of our world and especially of the devices of our time have an increasing impact on our observation, experience, and perception of the world. This essay will focus on the question whether we will have to start developing a new spiritual framework that can help us make decisions while developing and applying the capacities of the ‘digital other’, and use phenomenology as a philosophical science elaborated by Edith Stein to help us with that. This new digital reality is forcing us to think about what that ‘digital other’ means for us as humans and for our Being, and how this other may increasingly influence and determine our Dasein and reality. This conjures up questions on human existence in this reality framed by a digital other, while also leading to existential questions about our being as humans in this developing digital world.
