Journal: Ancient West & East Volume: 23 Date: 2024 Pages: 89-135 DOI: 10.2143/AWE.23.0.3293568 Abstract : The paper discusses 479 coins retrieved during the archaeological excavations at Jericho between 2010 and 2020. The numismatic finds include coins from surveys, trial probes and systematic archaeological excavations carried out by the Russian-Palestinian Archaeological Mission of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The coins constitute a reliable numismatic profile for Jericho, as well as whole Palestine, from the end of the 4th century BC to the 15th century AD. The coins find are discussed against the archaeological remains. |
