Document Details : Title: Membra disjecta sinaitica IV Subtitle: Fragments of Three Syriac Manuscripts (Sin. syr. 41, syr. 49, and syr. 56) Author(s): KESSEL, Grigory Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 137 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2024 Pages: 111-136 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.137.1.3293317 Abstract : This article introduces previously unrecorded membra disjecta of three Syriac manuscripts from the collection of the monastery of St. Catherine in Sinai (Sin. syr. 41, syr. 49, and syr. 56). Apart from identification of their location within the codices, some comments are provided regarding the manuscripts’ content and ecclesiastical affiliation. Thus it is shown that, thanks to the newly-discovered membrum disjectum of Sin. syr. 56, we have at our disposal for the first time a complete text of the Syriac version of Anastasius of Sinai’s Homily on Psalm 6. Furthermore, it is argued that Sin. syr. 49 is a rare witness to the Syriac version of the Jerusalem lectionary. |
